Choirs: Win $300 and Appear in a New Movie

Would you like to star in a film about the unsung power and beauty of the human voice? We’re making a documentary about that very subject! In conjunction with our crowdfunding campaign, we are holding an open call to choose the choir or singing group that will step into the spotlight as the singers of the closing song of our film.

The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges who will base their decision on talent and presentation.

The judges are:
Martin Zied (Voice Messages director)
Dr. Tim Sharp (Executive Director of the American Choral Director’s Association and Artistic Director of the Tulsa Oratorio)
Stacy Horn (Author of Imperfect Harmony: Finding Happiness Singing with Others)

In addition to appearing in the film, the winning organization will get $300. All non-professional singing groups are encouraged to submit.

How to Enter:

  1. Send us an email with a link to a video performance from the past year or so.
Include a sentence or two about your group including your name, where you’re based, and anything else you’d like us to know.

  2. Share our campaign link on your personal page or your group’s social network (Twitter, Facebook or Instagram).

The song you submit need only to be any song that you feel best represents the talent and presentation of your group.

Dates of the Contest:

All submissions must be received by 7/27/2016 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.

Additional Information:

The winning group will get to record the song that closes the film. You’ll be videotaped singing the song by a professional film crew (timing TBD based on your availability and other factors). The song for the film is to be determined based on your input, but ultimately up to the director’s discretion.

If you have any questions, please contact info@voicemessagesdocumentary.com.

Thank you!
